Our People
Armenian Church Youth Organization of America (ACYOA)
The ACYOA is a diocesan wide organization which serves the spiritual, cultural and social needs of Armenian youth. St. Gregory of Narek has two groups, Juniors and Seniors. The Juniors consist of young men and women ages 13-17 and the Seniors, ages 18 and older. Highlight of the Juniors social calendar for the last several years (and foreseeable future!) is the annual organized trip to Hye Camp in Illinois where they spend a week with their peers from sister parishes in the midwest region, enjoying traditional summer camp activities in an Armenian Christian education setting.
Choir
Members of the choir play a vital, unique role in leading our Sunday worship. Through their musical talents and commitment, they inspire the congregation toward a greater experience of God's presence in worship. An important addition to the beautiful sound experience came several years ago when the choir undertook a monumental project and raised funds to replace the original organ with a new instrument. Now, a Rodgers 805 organ serves as the foundation for the unique and beautiful singing of our sacred hymns. The choir welcomes anyone wishing to learn the beautiful hymns of the Armenian church and share their voice.
Church School
Come learn about Armenian faith, Christianity and enjoy fellowship through fun crafts activities, field trips and participating in worship. There's something for everyone!
There is a fun, safe envirionment in the nursery for children ages birth to three years, a preschool/kindergarten class, an elementary grade classroom, as well as an advanced teen group.
Church School meets each Sunday, September through May, between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and noon. Some exceptions on Feast Days.
Students are welcome to join any time.
For more information, call the church office at (216) 381-6590.
Parish Council
The Parish Council is a body of seven elected representatives from the "dues paying" membership. Council members are elected annually at the parish assembly in February for two year terms. They are responsible for the fiscal administration of the parish and meet every two to three weeks as needed.
Women's Guild
This group was organized to accommodate the busy schedules and specific needs of young women with children, careers or both. Organized in the spring of 1998, their first and very successful project was a Silent Auction and Dinner Dance.
